A quarter century of clamp-on flowmeter – Katronic
“In 1996, armed only with a phone, a desk and a dream, young Karsten Frahn decided to launch his business of non-intrusive ultrasonic flowmeters.
Then Katronic's managing director, Andrew Sutton, was its first employee. He is now the person to contact for information on everything. Andrew has spent his professional life going down holes, being dropped on oil rigs and clinging to water pipes all over the world.
Twenty-five years later, Katronic is a world-renowned instrumentation company, with branches in England, the USA, France as well as Karsten's home town of Wernigerode in East Germany, where the research and development department now lives and where new products are developed.
Katronic flowmeters are sold worldwide, for applications as diverse as mining in South America, petrochemicals in Kazakhstan, plastics in South Africa and waste water treatment in South London.
