Magtrol will present its second generation CTS (Cogging Test System) on Measurement World.
Notch torque or relaxation torque is an important parameter in permanent magnet (PM) motors. The relaxation torque of PM motors is made up of the retained torque (cogging) and the friction torque. The cogging torque is generated by the attraction / interaction of the magnetic poles on the teeth (steel structure) within an unpowered motor. It is one of the most important parameters of permanent magnet motors, causing torque ripple, vibration and noise.
To measure these parameters, Magtrol presents its second generation of CTS (Cogging Test System) comprising a precision gear motor, a TS torque sensor incorporating a 5,000 pulse encoder. For systems up to 200 mN · m, a safety clutch prevents overloading due to improper handling.
The geared motor drives the MUT (Motor Under Test) at low speed, while acquiring its notch torque linked to the position of the angle. The torque measurement covers as standard a range from 50 mN m up to 1 N m with an accuracy of ± 0.1 mN m (for CTS 100 with 50 mN m nominal range). Executable software controls the system carrying out the measurement and data acquisition. It provides accurate measurement of cogging, peak-to-peak torque, and displays XY or polar graphs as well as FFT analysis. It allows the recording of measured data, which makes it possible to compare performance graphs by overlaying up to 5 curves.
This new range strengthens Magtrol's offer in the field of torque measurement and engine test systems.
MAGTROL will welcome you on the stand 2L45 on Measurement World from September 6 to 9, 2021
The merger at the same dates and location of GLOBAL INDUSTRIE, MEASUREMENT WORLD and CIM2021 (International Metrology Congress) offers decisive synergy opportunities.
These events all three tackle, with different orientations, the themes of Industry 4.0. Visitors, exhibitors, organizers and certain partners are common to the 3 events.
