This show will have a marked international dimension and will become the benchmark of the sector in Paris, every two years.
The International Metrology Congress (CIM), the only European meeting for R&D and good measurement and metrology practices, will be held at the same place and on the same date.
The objective of the show is to promote best practices in the sector, the scope of technological solutions and all the contributions of measurement (control, optimization, productivity, quality, reliability, data valuation, etc.).
OPTEL THEVON
3 high-flying French SMEs serving the innovative application of one of them, CSTM, which is developing its own high-speed electric motor, has encountered a hard point in measuring torque. It must be contactless, precise, without added inertia, without constraint and moreover at very high speed:
Torque measurement without torque meter: oxymorons or paradoxes?
François Dugué, director of CSTM, explains in detail his engine and its requirements:
We are strongly concerned with high-speed rotating machines, particularly for aeronautics and space, whether for test benches or for prototypes of on-board equipment. In this context, we are developing an electric motor with a mechanical power of 52 kW at 100,000 rpm, which does not exist on the market, and which can meet the needs of several of our customers. For its development, we had to measure speed and torque. But, above 25,000 rpm there was no torque meter on the market.
To measure at these high speeds, we obviously need a very fast and precise reference speed sensor for this: the world reference is OPTEL THEVON, designing its sensors in Paris. We chose the 152M model from OPTEL THEVON, which has many advantages on the scientific and practical level with TTL and Analogue outputs; This standard product presents a truly exceptional dynamic, as well as an ease of assembly and use, (The installation simply requires for each sensor a marking on the shaft alternating a reflective surface and a matt surface, as well as an optical fiber support The installation and adjustment of the optical sensor is then of the order of 10 min). The advantages of these optical probes are their precision which makes it possible to put many marks on a small diameter as well as their insensitivity to electromagnetic pollution. No wonder Porsche, Toyota and all the other majors use OPTEL THEVON products around the world.
Thanks to the VIB 360 application from French Impédance, with its acyclism extraction algorithm created by Dr Hamid SAIAH, we can measure the speed, torque, acyclisms and eigenmodes of the shaft line, and with two sensors 152M each located on a tone wheel on either side of a shaft portion of known stiffness, the high speed torque meter is produced.
Hamid Sahia and his team have been developing and using algorithms for machine vibration diagnostics for many years in conjunction with CSTM. Its algorithms are really impressive as shown by validation tests with a commercial torque meter, tests carried out at Supélec where a precision better than 10-3 angular degrees was observed, ie 0.02% of the torque considered at low speed.
The strength of this torque meter, using very high dynamic OPTEL THEVON sensors, is that the measurement can be performed at low speed on large rotors and theoretically at speeds greater than 200,000 revolutions per minute with the same angular precision, if the acquisition frequency is suitable.
Article proposal / grand premiere
Our recent tests up to 85,000 rpm, with two 152M sensors on an electric motor test bench designed and produced by CSTM, see Figure 1, have led to exceptional results. In fact, the torque measurements perfectly follow the predictions of the calculation. By comparing the torque measured against the braking torque of the aerodynamic brake that we calculated in digital fluid mechanics (CFD), we validate at high speed both the calculations and the torque meter which is of course the more precise of the two, such as This is shown by the low dispersion of the measurement points compared to their trend curve.

KREON
The Zephyr III is the new 3D scanner from KREON. Mainly dedicated to CMM applications, the Zephyr III has been designed to meet the growing needs for productivity on a measuring machine. Its wide laser line (150 mm) and its acquisition speed (600,000 pts / sec) make it possible to reduce inspection times and to scan large parts quickly. Its blue laser guarantees the best measurement quality on any type of part, even black or shiny parts. Parts with complex geometry will also benefit from its compactness, and the possibility of fixing a probe directly under the head, to scan and probe simultaneously in the same measurement range. Flexible, the Zephyr III can also be integrated on robots and measuring arms KREON.
ZEISS
ZEISS will exhibit its new roughness sensor ZEISS ROTOS embedded on a 3D machine. This will allow ZEISS to highlight its active participation in the metrology of the future and by extension, in industry 4.0.
The full integration of surface texture measurement on the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) allows all part characteristics to be captured in a single dimensional measurement and surface finish operation.
This means saving time in handling and positioning the part, by having a single multi-sensor machine.
This is the only 3-axis sensor (added to the 3 already existing axes of the machine) in continuous measurement, without indexing and without shoe. On the market, there are currently only sensors with 2 axes. Several styli are adaptable according to the type of part and the change is automatic.
OROS
New! NVH test and analysis solution on electric vehicles
OROS launches a complete solution to meet the challenges of e-NVH testing and analysis, bringing together software, instrumentation and services. This solution was developed in cooperation with the company EOMYS, a specialist in noise and vibrations from electrical machines.
The new software module dedicated to electrical machines is an integral part of the OROS software suite covering all NVH applications:

Micro Epsilon
Compact laser sensor with a measuring range of 500 mm Micro Epsilon.
The optoNCDT 1420 laser triangulation displacement sensor is now available with a measuring range of 500 mm. The intelligent laser sensor is used in logistics, warehouse automation or robotics.
The optoNCDT 1420 laser sensors combine speed, size, performance and application diversity. Their high precision and measuring frequency allow dynamic measurements of displacement, distance and position up to 4kHz. The new optoNCDT 1420-500 laser sensor is the world's smallest laser sensor that offers a measuring range of 500 mm. Portable pressure calibrator with integrated electric pump
WIKA has expanded its range of portable calibrators to include an instrument with an integrated pressure pump.
This new model of pressure calibrator CPH7650 - designed in a robust housing - is multifunctional: it also responds for voltage and current tests.
Reference CPH7650 uses the model CPT6000 standard sensor with an accuracy of 0.025% EM. The sensor is exchangeable, which increases the versatility of the instrument and optimizes the calibration. VAISALA
Smart and understandable measures
The Vaisala Indigo range includes interchangeable and intelligent measurement probes, optional host devices and Vaisala Insight PC software. DOERLER MEASURES
ESPILON ONE is a non-contact video extensometer with telecentric lens and high resolution camera. It allows the measurement of axial elongation of a large number of materials. MY NETWORK DIAGNOSTIC SOLUTION
HVA28TD - VLF voltage generator
Used during preventive maintenance, the HVA45TD case and its 4kV option can perform diagnostics on 20kV electrical cables up to 3U0.
This tool injects a voltage at very low frequencies (0.1Hz) allowing both a voltage withstand test and a Tangent Delta (TD) or Partial Discharge (DP) measurement via an additional module.
